Position Summary: In this role, you will operate with minimal oversight from senior management, overseeing complex and high-stakes projects that demand significant resources and extensive functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the execution of multiple large-scale capital projects, ensuring adherence to project management standards and corporate governance.
- Develop and implement a public engagement strategy during the project permitting phase.
- Provide regular updates on project progress to management and stakeholders, following an established communication framework.
- Manage the procurement process and contracts for external engineering and construction services.
- Negotiate with vendors and contractors to address work scope modifications, ensuring timely completion of all contractual obligations.
- Supervise construction management activities in collaboration with field operations teams.
- Engage with various management levels, including senior executives, to secure necessary approvals and mitigate risks in line with corporate policies.
- Coordinate and direct the efforts of up to 20 internal departments and 15 external agencies, including regulatory bodies and other utilities, to successfully deliver assigned projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proficient in Project Management Institute methodologies or similar project management techniques.
- Experience in vendor and contractor management to ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Strong business management capabilities, including consulting, customer service, and business acumen.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to facilitate teamwork and convey project objectives and outcomes effectively.
- Ability to analyze complex information, draw conclusions, and propose innovative solutions to unique business challenges.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and influence team members, along with experience in team building and conflict resolution.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.
Additional Skills:
- Understanding of environmental regulations and compliance requirements.
- Master's Degree in Business Administration or a relevant technical field is preferred.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent advanced project management credentials.
- Familiarity with SAP for cost tracking and forecasting, as well as Primavera or similar project management software.
This position is part of the PMO department and is eligible for an annual discretionary performance incentive bonus. All qualified candidates will be considered for employment without regard to any protected status.
