POSITION SUMMARY
As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing ingredients for cooking, which includes tasks such as portioning, chopping, and storing food items. You will also be expected to wash and peel fresh produce, weigh, measure, and mix ingredients accurately.
Your role will involve preparing and cooking dishes according to established recipes, quality benchmarks, and presentation standards. You will be tasked with preparing cold dishes and operating various kitchen equipment including ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers. It is essential to test food items to ensure they are cooked to perfection and to monitor food quality throughout the preparation process.
Maintaining a clean and organized work environment is crucial; therefore, you will set up and break down your workstation, serve food in appropriate portions, and ensure the kitchen area, tools, and equipment are washed and disinfected regularly. You will also check the temperature of appliances and food to ensure safety and quality.
In this role, adherence to company policies and safety procedures is mandatory. You will report any maintenance needs, accidents, or unsafe conditions to your supervisor and complete necessary safety training. A professional appearance and clear communication with colleagues are expected, as well as the ability to develop positive working relationships and support team objectives.
Physical requirements include standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods, as well as lifting and moving objects weighing up to 25 pounds. You may also be required to perform other reasonable job duties as assigned by supervisors.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONEducation: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
Related Work Experience: A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a culinary setting.
Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience required.
License or Certification: None required.
