About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Manager to join our team at Dailymotion. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading a team of development engineers and driving the technical vision of our core platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of development engineers and provide guidance on technical decisions
- Manage project assignments and participate in company-wide staffing ceremonies
- Partner with other engineering managers and product managers to shape solutions and translate product requirements into actionable projects
- Support timely delivery of projects by reviewing and directing the work of engineers
- Manage team productivity and drive the technical vision of the core platform
Requirements
- At least one experience as a manager or team lead, preferably for a development engineering team
- Ability to challenge and grow team members, encourage experimentation, and uphold quality expectations
- Success as an engineer and ability to deliver projects even when requirements are under-specified
- Ability to work with multiple parts of the business and multiple stakeholders
- Demonstrable passion for technology and ability to make suggestions around how to make the company better
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of Web development, Web architecture, HTTP, JSON/RPC, REST API
- Experience with collaborative software engineering techniques and methods
- Knowledge in microservices architecture
- Experience with modern frontend development
