About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Manager to join our team at Dailymotion. As a key member of our engineering organization, you will be responsible for leading a team of development engineers and driving the technical vision of our core platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of development engineers and provide guidance on technical decisions
- Manage project assignments and workload, and participate in company-wide staffing ceremonies
- Partner with other engineering managers and product managers to shape solutions and translate product requirements into actionable projects
- Support timely delivery of projects by reviewing, directing, and guiding the work of all engineers
- Manage team productivity and drive the technical vision of the core platform
- Participate in roadmap definition and delivery, and company strategic decisions
Requirements
- At least one experience as a manager or a team lead, preferably for a development engineering team
- Ability to challenge and grow team members, and build and present a strong vision/roadmap for the team
- Success as an engineer, and ability to deliver projects even when requirements are under-specified
- Ability to work with multiple parts of the business and multiple stakeholders
- Demonstrable passion for technology, and ability to continually make suggestions around how to make the company better
- Level of written/verbal English (documentation, team presentations, meetings)
- Communication skills - able to work effectively with technical and non-technical teammates
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of Web development, Web architecture, HTTP, JSON/RPC, REST API
- Experience with collaborative software engineering techniques and methods: agile development, continuous delivery, code review/pairing, unit testing...
- Knowledge in microservices architecture
- Experience with modern frontend development (React/Preact or similar frameworks)
- Demonstrated interest in problem-solving and technical innovation
