Job Summary

The Grant Accounting Specialist (Accountant II) role is a key component of the Sponsored Projects Accounting team. This position is responsible for preparing, submitting, and distributing reports to KCTCS contract sponsors, grant makers, and oversight groups. The Grant Accounting Specialist will handle day-to-day accounting and reporting functions for all grants and contracts, provide communication to KCTCS personnel and sponsors regarding grant and contract specifics, and perform quality assurance reviews of grant and contract revenue and expenditures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit reports to KCTCS contract sponsors, grant makers, and oversight groups.
  • Handle day-to-day accounting and reporting functions for all grants and contracts.
  • Provide communication to KCTCS personnel and sponsors regarding grant and contract specifics.
  • Perform quality assurance reviews of grant and contract revenue and expenditures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • Two years of relevant experience or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three years of relevant experience or equivalent.
