Overview
The primary role of the Senior Technical Specialist is to deliver exceptional technical guidance and support to Field Service Engineers and clients for Atlas Copco products. This ensures the safety, operational efficiency, and availability of systems, ultimately enhancing customer productivity and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage intricate customer support tasks, including installation, modification, repair, and preventive maintenance of Atlas Copco equipment to guarantee optimal performance.
- Lead and assist in various projects, such as energy efficiency initiatives and business transformation efforts.
- Operate independently while adhering to established policies and procedures to meet both company and customer quality standards.
Main Duties
- Take ownership of local product technical challenges and discrepancies from initial assessment through to system recovery and resolution.
- Facilitate case investigations and apply appropriate escalation protocols when necessary.
- Utilize advanced technical expertise and troubleshooting methods to evaluate complex issues, analyze logs for root cause determination, and provide solutions to clients.
- Train, coach, and mentor Atlas Copco technicians and engineers on equipment operation and maintenance practices.
- Act as a liaison between Field and Onsite engineers and the Regional Technical Support team, promoting effective use of the case management system.
- Offer support and technical knowledge to field and onsite service engineers regarding system recovery, new installations, upgrades, corrective maintenance escalations, training, documentation, and data collection.
- Collect data on customer tools onsite and/or through internal monitoring platforms, analyze this data, and present findings to internal teams and clients to recommend subsequent actions.
- Respond proactively to shifting priorities, such as equipment downtimes and escalations, while managing organizational and administrative responsibilities.
Qualifications
Education:
- Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical experience.
Relevant Experience:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in a related technical field.
- Proven track record in a customer-focused technical support role within a dynamic environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of complex machinery.
- Experience in advanced technical problem-solving using statistical techniques.
- Familiarity with the Semiconductor Industry is advantageous.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Exceptional systematic troubleshooting abilities.
- Capability to independently address issues and implement corrective measures.
- Strong communication skills.
- Proficiency in both French and English.
- Solid understanding of diagnostic techniques across electrical, mechanical, and software domains.
- Knowledge of Design of Experiment methodologies.
- Operational analysis skills to assess data, identify trends, and discover improvement opportunities.
- Project management skills to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Willingness to travel regularly to customer locations.
