Technical Support Specialist

At Applied Materials, we are seeking a skilled Technical Support Specialist to join our team in Crolles, France. As a key member of our PDC tools support team, you will be responsible for providing top-notch technical support to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
• Troubleshoot software issues using Microsoft, networking, and applications tools
• Analyze reported problems, validate solutions, and provide rapid resolution on systemic issues
• Understand, research, and resolve internal and external application and systems issues of moderate difficulty
• Independently learn and investigate customer's high-value problems, systematic bugs, or systematic software failures
• Install and configure software and images on ELS, NPI, and FIF tools
• Document and perform first-of-a-kind installs on HVM tools
• Develop and train on software procedures
• Collect and incorporate customer-specific test scenarios
• Construct simulators for testing and troubleshooting
• Execute test plans to validate software releases
• Create, test, and verify installation/upgrade instructions for Applied Materials' product releases
• Participate in product design, testing, and documentation reviews as appropriate
• Provide off-hours customer support via pager and cellular telephone as scheduled
• Attend AMAT classes in designated product lines and external classes for third-party software
• Foster customer trust in AMAT software
• Consult on factory automation scenarios
• Resolve questions on tool operations and settings
• Provide ongoing training to customers and customer engineers for technical products and systems issues
• Assist in analysis of customer OS performance, integration, and database management issues
• Deliver updates and reports to managers, partners, and peers
• Assist in training junior-level engineers in departmental procedures, corporate procedures, and detailed product operation
Technical Competencies:
1. Basic understanding of software test simulation, test scripts, test requirements/specifications, test execution, test documentation, test cases, test and test release plan design, software tech support knowledgebase sharing, software issue problem statement, software issue investigation, software distribution, internal software training, factory automation support, customer software simulations, AMAT product development life cycle, troubleshoot software issues, track software performance
2. Working experience in software test simulation, test scripts, test requirements/specifications, test execution, test documentation, test cases, test and test release plan design, software tech support knowledgebase sharing, software issue problem statement, software issue investigation, software distribution, internal software training, factory automation support, customer software simulations, AMAT product development life cycle, troubleshoot software issues, track software performance
