About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Molecular Designer to join our team in Lyon, France. As a key member of our global R&D organization, you will play a crucial role in designing innovative crop protection solutions against plant diseases.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research in a dynamic and scientifically exciting global network, combining in silico and wet lab chemical research to design new and diverse molecules with fungicidal activity and high agronomic potential.
  • Develop and propose synthetic strategies to realize these molecules, integrating digital technologies with chemistry science.
  • Utilize Deep Learning/Machine Learning, chemo-informatics, and molecular modeling to identify and optimize innovative active ingredients for crop protection.
  • Contribute to the evaluation and optimization of classes of innovative molecules, pushing beyond current standards of sustainability and performance.
  • Collaborate with an empowered team of internal and/or external chemists, interacting with other scientific disciplines in a global R&D organization.
  • Ensure high safety standards and compliant action, considering laws, regulations, and directives, including assessment and evaluation of potential risks.

Your Profile:

  • You hold an international scientific education in Organic Chemistry (PhD level or equivalent).
  • You have a strong track record in applying modern Data Science approaches to chemical research, including structure-based design, Deep Learning, and Machine Learning.
  • You possess good communication and interpersonal skills, as well as intercultural knowledge and understanding.
  • You are eager to learn, able to solve problems, and structure complex tasks, inspiring and motivating colleagues with a profound sense of accountability.
  • You are passionate about working in multidisciplinary teams and have fluency in English, with basic knowledge in French and/or German appreciated.
