Senior Environmental Health Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Environmental Health Specialist to join our team at Amazon France Transport SAS. As a key member of our Workplace Health and Safety team, you will play a crucial role in driving improvements in safety and efficiency across our sites.
Key Responsibilities- Manage health and safety programs, collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure compliance with local regulations and Amazon's policies.
- Analyze data reports and root causes to provide leadership with the information needed to make informed safety-related decisions.
- Provide guidance and support for health and safety projects and policies, ensuring a culture of safety and inclusivity on our sites.
- Drive programs to improve technical equipment specifications and designs, enhancing functionality and efficiency.
- Travel within the covered region to support site-based activities and collaborate with colleagues.
This is a highly varied role that allows you to contribute to multiple aspects of our safety culture. You will manage health and safety standards, improve functionality, and supervise team members to implement changes in response to employee feedback or seize opportunities for process improvements.
About the TeamOur Workplace Health and Safety team plays a critical role in maintaining the well-being of our employees. We work closely with managers, associates, and local governments to ensure compliance with Amazon's policies and legal regulations, and that our workplaces are safe.
As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on a range of projects, from equipment and process inspections to assessing processes, building, and equipment design. You will collaborate with colleagues from across the business to develop, implement, and uphold our high safety and wellbeing standards.
Basic Qualifications- Education to a degree level in a health and safety-related subject or an engineering degree with modules in Environment, Health, and Safety legislation.
- Professional training in a technical profession, preferably mechatronics or electrics.
- Relevant experience managing projects.
- Relevant experience complying with local Health and Safety legislation.
- Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English and French.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Above-average willingness to travel within the covered region.
- Experience with Lean, 5S, and Kaizen methodologies.
- Qualifications or experience in the field of sustainability.
- Relevant experience of communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including your peers and leadership.
- Chartered membership of a Human Resources industry body (e.g., IOSH) to support people management.
- Strong stakeholder management capabilities.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
