About the Project

In the context of a collaborative project with the PEPR 5G and next generation networks, involving a large number of French research laboratories working on networking, we are seeking a PhD researcher to explore the topic of energy-efficient quality of experience-aware beyond 5G future mobile networks.

Research Objectives

The main objective of this PhD project is to investigate the balance between energy consumption and quality of experience in beyond 5G networks. This will involve:

  • Modelling the computing and network requirements of new applications in the context of B5G networks
  • Establishing the link between application requirements and perceived quality of experience by end-users
  • Developing machine learning and data-driven approaches to optimize network resource utilization and energy consumption
Methodology

The PhD researcher will use a combination of theoretical and experimental approaches to achieve the research objectives. This will involve:

  • Reviewing relevant literature on quality of service and quality of experience in B5G networks
  • Designing and implementing an experimental framework to run services in a controlled environment
  • Collecting and analyzing data on energy consumption and quality of experience
Expected Outcomes

The expected outcomes of this PhD project include:

  • A deeper understanding of the balance between energy consumption and quality of experience in B5G networks

Requirements
