Post-doctoral Researcher in Immersive Audio Signal Processing

The Acoustic and Cognitive Spaces team at IRCAM is seeking a post-doctoral researcher to contribute to the development of novel concepts for producing and disseminating audio-augmented live performances.
The CONTINUUM project, a collaboration between IRCAM, AMADEUS, and OWL Perception, aims to create a comprehensive production framework for immersive audio/video content. The selected candidate will work on optimizing a 3D hybrid reverberation model, extending automatic estimation algorithms, and participating in perceptual experiments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Optimization of a 3D hybrid reverberation model combining convolution with directional impulse responses and feedback delay networks.
- Extension of automatic estimation algorithms for FDN control parameters to simulate a DRIR.
- Development and conduct of perceptual experiments in virtual and augmented reality environments.
- Participation in the integration of the hybrid reverberation module into real-time spatialization environments.
- Contribution to the creation of immersive sound examples.
Required qualifications include a doctoral degree with a strong component in 3D audio, excellent knowledge of audio signal processing, and proficiency in programming languages such as Matlab, Python, and Max.
