Postdoctoral Researcher in 3D Audio Signal Processing

The Acoustic and Cognitive Spaces team at IRCAM is seeking a highly skilled postdoctoral researcher to join our team in the field of 3D audio signal processing. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to the development of novel concepts for producing and disseminating audio-augmented live performances.
Job Description:- Optimize a 3D hybrid reverberation model combining convolution with directional impulse responses (DRIR) and feedback delay networks (FDN).
- Extend automatic estimation algorithms for FDN control parameters to simulate a DRIR.
- Develop and conduct perceptual experiments in virtual and augmented reality environments (VR/AR).
- Participate in the integration of the hybrid reverberation module into real-time spatialization environments Spat~ and Panoramix.
- Contribute to the creation of immersive sound examples.
- PhD in a relevant field with a strong component in 3D audio.
- Excellent knowledge of (space-time-frequency) audio signal processing.
- Good understanding of room acoustics.
- Strong experience in multi-channel audio practices (HOA, etc.).
- Proficient in programming languages such as Matlab, Python, and Max.
- Good experience and methodology in critical listening.
- Excellent skills in scientific communication, both written and oral.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Capacity to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
