Job Title: Senior Server and Networks Engineer

The City of St. Cloud is seeking a highly skilled Senior Server and Networks Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement network infrastructure solutions to meet the needs of the City's departments and residents.
  • Ensure the stability and integrity of our network services, including planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network hardware, software, and communication links.
  • Analyze and resolve network hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion.
  • Provide end-user training and support as needed.
  • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
  • Project lead for the planning and implementation of all Network IT Projects.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience working in a government or public sector environment.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong knowledge of Cisco Pix Firewalls, Remote Access/VPN, Configuring, Security and monitoring Skills in Microsoft Server and Desktop Operating Systems, Exchange Server.
  • Strong knowledge in Microsoft Active Directory, Roles, Deployment, Maintaining and Support.
  • Extensive knowledge of principles and methods applied to information technology infrastructure, planning, implementation, and management.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, division and department heads, public/private sector contacts, and County Administration.
  • Ability to clearly communicate information both verbally and in writing.
