Position Overview

We are looking for a dedicated Textile Materials Specialist W/M to become part of our Softgoods/Apparel Team.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Material Development:
- Contribute to the product offering by developing innovative, efficient, and reliable materials while staying at the forefront of technology.
- Define technical solutions and choices, balancing innovation with risk management.
- Oversee material selection considering performance, production locations, and cost targets while optimizing material variety.
- Coordinate material bookings for prototypes in collaboration with the purchasing team and material sourcing platform.
- Verify material compliance with quality standards and design expectations based on design files and timelines.
- Ensure the reliability and availability of technical documentation and necessary data for production.
- Align material development with the brand's values, CSR initiatives, and sustainability goals.
- Facilitate meetings regarding fabric selection and ensure effective follow-up with key stakeholders.
- Order fabric yardages for internal prototyping needs.
Proactive Engagement:
- Collaborate on developing partnerships with universities.
- Stay updated on technical textile innovations within the industry.
- Contribute to the establishment of a material library (collection of textile materials).
- Lead specific anticipation projects focused on advanced material development.
Qualifications:
Essential Skills & Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
- A Master’s degree in Textile Engineering is preferred.
- Strong expertise in outerwear products and technical product knowledge.
- Understanding of garment construction and production processes.
- Highly self-motivated and capable of working independently.
- Ability to translate innovation into production.
Essential Competencies:
- Market Insight: Understanding of the market context, including key products, competitors, and customer insights, along with the ability to identify emerging trends.
- Innovation: Capability to devise new and improved methods for addressing business challenges and enhancing operations, grounded in benchmarking.
- Communication: Proficient in interpersonal skills to foster a positive work environment, interpreting emotional cues effectively and building strong relationships.
Desired Qualifications:
- IT Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with Centric is a plus.
- Language Proficiency: Fluent in English; knowledge of French and Mandarin is advantageous.
Additional Information:
This is a permanent, full-time position with responsibilities that may require occasional travel.
