About the Role

INRIA is seeking a highly motivated PhD candidate to contribute to cutting-edge research at the intersection of applied mathematics, imaging science, and computational methods. This exciting project delves into the realm of partial differential equations with stochastic coefficients, inverse problems, and numerical simulations within the context of ultrasound imaging.

As part of a collaborative team of experts in wave propagation, multi-scale modeling, high-performance computing, finite element methods, and domain decomposition, you will play a pivotal role in developing and analyzing innovative tools for numerical simulation. Your work will directly impact the advancement of quantitative ultrasound imaging algorithms, leading to improved diagnostic capabilities and clinical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct theoretical and computational research on partial differential equations with stochastic coefficients relevant to ultrasound imaging.
  • Develop and implement numerical simulation techniques for solving inverse problems in the context of ultrasound data analysis.
  • Analyze and validate the performance of novel algorithms for quantitative ultrasound imaging.
  • Contribute to scientific publications and presentations at conferences.

Qualifications

We are seeking candidates with a Master's degree in applied mathematics or a related field. A strong foundation in PDE analysis, numerical methods, and programming skills is essential. Experience with finite element methods, high-performance computing, or image processing would be highly advantageous.
