As a Technical Sales Engineer at Datadog, you will be the voice of our product, providing technical expertise to customers and partners through sales presentations, product demonstrations, and supporting technical evaluations. Your goal will be to qualify and close opportunities, while also having a voice with the product team to help prioritize features based on customer feedback.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Partner with the Sales team to articulate the Datadog value proposition, vision, and strategy to customers.
  • Own technical engagement with customers during the trial phase, communicating Datadog's value and addressing any issues or concerns.
  • Closely work with customers to deliver product and technical briefings/presentations.
  • Maintain accurate notes and feedback in CRM regarding customer input, both wins and losses.
  • Proactively engage with customers and Datadog business/technical teams regarding product feedback and the competitive landscape.
Requirements:
  • Passionate about educating customers on observability risks and able to build and execute an evaluation plan.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to articulate both business benefits and technical advantages.
  • Experience in programming/scripting with languages such as Java, Python, Ruby, Go, Node.js, PHP, and.NET.
  • Minimum 3+ years in a Sales Engineering or DevOps Engineering role.
  • Able to sit for up to 4 hours and travel up to 45% of the time.
