Position Overview

In this role, you will oversee one or multiple software projects. You will collaborate closely with developers, software architects, and technology group leaders to guarantee the development and upkeep of the final product solution, taking full responsibility for performance, quality, costs, and timeline constraints. You will work with both local and offshore teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish timelines, allocate tasks, and ensure software project objectives are met.
  • Oversee all software development phases, utilizing either V-cycle or agile methodologies, in accordance with departmental quality processes.
  • Coordinate software project teams effectively.
  • Manage the integration of software components and elements.
  • Ensure the quality of milestones and deliverables while adhering to the software development budget.
  • Provide software project updates through relevant KPIs.
  • Maintain technical relationships with clients.
  • Participate in the development of software specifications.
  • Contribute to decisions regarding architectural alternatives, ensuring alignment with other disciplines (HW, Cybersecurity, Safety, System, and IVVQ).
  • May engage in software code implementation (design, coding, reviews, static & dynamic unit tests, integration tests).
  • Development may be subject to functional safety constraints (ISO 26262, ISO 25119, etc.), Cybersecurity features (ISO 21434, etc.), and development process standards (ASPICE).
Qualifications

Master's degree in electrical engineering or embedded software development or a related field.

Minimum of 7 years of experience in embedded real-time software development for electronic control units:

  • At least 3 years of experience in developing low-level embedded software (BSP) with real-time constraints.
  • At least 3 years of experience as an Embedded Software Project Leader.

Essential Technical Skills/Experience:

  • Proven experience in software project management, ensuring adherence to delivery dates, development efforts/budgets, and software quality.
  • Experience leading functional teams.
  • Proficiency in C programming language, particularly in embedded and real-time contexts, with 32-bit microcontroller architecture.
  • Development of low-level software (BSP -> Microcontroller / Hardware drivers, preemptive OS environment).
  • Experience with embedded real-time software, addressing constraints related to interruptions, CPU load, and limited microcontroller resources.
  • Familiarity with process-constrained development, integrating configuration management, change management, traceability management, design rules, and quality gates.
  • Knowledge of configuration/change/requirement management tools such as GIT, SVN, JIRA, Doors, and Reqtify.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics and component datasheets.
