Key Responsibilities
As part of a global restructuring initiative, we are establishing a new Operational Excellence Division aimed at enhancing both top-line and bottom-line performance in our stores. This division will focus on continuous improvement in-store execution by leveraging both internal and external expertise and innovation, while also supporting new openings and struggling operations to promote profitable growth.
This division will comprise four distinct teams:
• Store Solutions
• Local Supply Chain, Loss Prevention, and Project Management
• Operational Quality
• Indirect Procurement
The Transversal Projects Management team will be responsible for providing Project Management Office (PMO) support for complex projects at both the Group and country levels, including a significant data convergence initiative, POP animation, and STARS+ PMO. The strategic projects under this umbrella will evolve and address a variety of operational and organizational topics.
POP stands for Process Optimization and Performance, encompassing processes such as Purchase to Pay, Supply Chain, Master Data, and Sales to Cash. The objectives include:
Enhancing continuous improvement of business processes, whether within the Core model or related frameworks.Facilitating collaboration between operational and functional experts to gather, comprehend, and synthesize requirements, thereby optimizing the interface between business and IT teams.Ensuring fair and transparent prioritization of requests based on the best interests of the Group.STARS+ is the Group's transformation initiative, targeting €200 million in cumulative efficiency gains from 2024 to 2026, encompassing 12 streams across various areas such as direct and indirect purchasing, operational performance, AI, IT convergence, and supply chain management.
The Transversal Projects Manager will engage closely with top management across the Group and all operational countries.
Main Duties
The Transversal Projects Manager is responsible for overseeing a portfolio of strategic initiatives and coordinating these projects from inception to completion.
In this role, key responsibilities include:
Structuring approaches and methodologies for project execution.Organizing project teams and Steering Committees.Coordinating and aligning various teams and functions involved, which may include operations, IT, and Finance, across different countries or headquarters.Prioritizing and making decisions on project-related matters.Tracking project status, achievements, and benefits, including monitoring guidelines and defining methods.Documenting projects and producing reports for senior management.Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree in Management or Engineering and should have:
A minimum of 5 years of professional experience.Experience in Strategy, Project Management, or Consulting.A background in managing or supervising data and business IT projects.While ideally based in the Paris area, other European locations may be considered.
Proficiency in project management practices (organization, coordination, prioritization) and Microsoft Office tools (especially Excel and PowerPoint) is essential. Familiarity with SAP and/or Master Data Management is a plus. Fluency in both English and French (spoken and written) is required.
The candidate should thrive in challenging environments and be recognized for their adaptability, curiosity, and versatility. They should demonstrate autonomy, sound decision-making, and the ability to manage unexpected situations effectively.
Strong execution skills, along with good anticipation, organization, and priority management capabilities, are crucial. Additionally, the candidate should possess excellent synthesis skills (both oral and written) and strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
