Senior Supply Chain Executive

The Senior Director of Supply Chain is instrumental in steering strategic initiatives that bolster the growth trajectory of Acuity Brands. This role is essential in navigating international expansion, penetrating new market verticals, and ensuring product vitality. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Operations, the individual will be tasked with shaping the strategic framework of the supply chain, crafting solutions that drive commercial growth, enhancing margins, and achieving key performance metrics.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive sourcing strategy aimed at optimizing service across diverse customer channels. Focus on risk management, cost efficiency, and product reliability through extensive market research and spend analysis.
- Collaboration with Engineering: Partner with engineering teams during the initial phases of product development to identify and engage top suppliers, ensuring cost-effective sourcing and high-quality inputs.
- Integration Business Planning: Lead the deployment of the end-to-end Integration Business Planning strategy, aligning operational plans with strategic objectives.
- Global Footprint Strategy: Participate in designing and executing strategies that support international expansion efforts.
- Digital Transformation: Drive the digital transformation of the supply chain, ensuring excellence through the adoption of best-in-class processes, systems, and tools.
- Indirect Purchasing Policy: Implement corporate indirect purchasing policies and assist other functions in establishing optimal partnerships.
- Subject Matter Expertise: Act as a subject matter expert for strategic projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to provide insights and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Make or Buy Strategy: Develop and refine strategies for sourcing raw materials and finished goods, assessing outsourcing opportunities based on cost, quality, and scalability.
- Inventory Management: Provide guidance on inventory management to ensure optimal service levels and inventory turnover.
- Team Leadership: Lead and cultivate a high-performance team, inspiring and mentoring professionals while driving accountability for results.
- Data Management: Establish a robust system for data collection and analysis, ensuring accuracy and integrity across the supply chain, and develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor performance.
- ESG Program Support: Support the company's Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives within the supply chain function.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain management, with a proven track record in strategic sourcing and integrated business planning.
- Experience in the electronics sector is preferred.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
- Strong leadership capabilities with experience in managing cross-functional teams.
- Excellent analytical skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building trust and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
- Bilingual proficiency in French and English is required.
