We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse 1 Psychiatric to join our team at New York State. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional nursing care to individuals diagnosed with mental illness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide professional nursing services, including nursing interventions and their documentation, case finding, health teaching/counseling, and supportive and/or restorative care.
- Participate in staff training and development, preparing clinical and administrative reports, and maintaining infection control standards.
- Function as a member of a treatment team, collaborating with healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care.
- Act as a charge nurse on a unit, overseeing daily operations and ensuring the highest level of patient care.
- Maintain inventory standards for medicine, controlled drugs, and narcotics, ensuring a safe and efficient healthcare environment.
Requirements:
- Possession of a license and current registration to practice nursing in New York State.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and promoting a culture of safety and respect.
Notes:
- Failure to maintain licensure and registration may result in removal from the position.
- Eligibility for appointment and maintenance of employment requires exclusion from Federal and State Medicaid and Medicare exclusion lists.
- Appointment may require enrollment as a Medicare provider, obtaining a National Provider Identifier (NPI) number, and participating in billing through Medicare and Medicaid.
