Department Overview

The Group Ceded Reinsurance Department plays a crucial role in:
  • Formulating the reinsurance strategy for AXA Group;
  • Assessing the risks associated with covered portfolios;
  • Protecting the financial stability of the Group's entities;
  • Ensuring the security of insurance operations across subsidiaries;
  • Implementing solutions that enhance the Group's internal capabilities and facilitate risk transfers to external markets.

Position Summary

As a Catastrophe Life and P&C Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to structure and place the Group cover for Life-related risks. You will also contribute to the management of the AXA Property Pool and optimize AXA XL reinsurance, while engaging in cross-functional projects related to the Underwriting and Placement of Catastrophe Group Protections.

You will report directly to the Head of Reinsurance Underwriting and Group Protections - CAT.

Key Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities will include:
  • Preparing underwriting committees to assess AXA subsidiaries' Life-related risks;
  • Structuring programs for your designated risk portfolio in alignment with the Group's risk appetite;
  • Placing reinsurance programs for the Life Group cover in close collaboration with AXA entities;
  • Ensuring effective collaboration with the actuarial department and relevant Lines of Business within AXA entities;
  • Participating in management and underwriting activities for the AXA Group Property Pool;
  • Coordinating the delivery of Catastrophe data to the market for renewal purposes;
  • Overseeing the Catastrophe claims renewal lists process.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, candidates should possess:
  • A solid understanding of insurance and reinsurance techniques, products, and markets;
  • Expertise in Property Catastrophe and/or Life insurance;
  • Strong risk analysis capabilities.

Experience

Applicants should have a minimum of three years of experience in an insurance or reinsurance role.
