Job Summary
The Workplace Experience team is dedicated to crafting engaging environments and pioneering services that embody NetApp's culture and principles. We oversee the services and initiatives that contribute to making NetApp an exceptional workplace. The Shipping & Receiving Team Leader is a pivotal position that manages the intricate daily functions of our shipping department.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborates with Shipping Teams across various NetApp locations to ensure procedural uniformity, documenting any site-specific differences.
- Monitors and resolves outstanding issues for the Finance Group to guarantee prompt resolution and confirmation of receipts for invoicing.
- Ensures compliance with SOX, ISO Certification, and other training mandates.
- Tracks and maintains data for reporting metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Coordinates and delegates tasks for the local shipping team, including scheduling pickups and deliveries, verifying records of incoming and outgoing shipments, asset tagging, and preparing items for both domestic and international shipments in collaboration with Global Trade Compliance.
- Determines shipping priorities, work assignments, and required shipping methods to adhere to schedules, utilizing knowledge of shipping protocols, routes, and rates.
- Engages with employees and program liaisons regularly to communicate updates, gather feedback, and monitor the status of relevant procedures.
- Assists in the preparation of correspondence, reports, standard operating procedures, and safety manuals.
- Supports NetApp's Asset Recovery program for the Midwest region.
- Acts as the local point of escalation for shipping and receiving inquiries.
- Operates lift trucks, pallet jacks, stretch wrap banders, and other mechanical packaging equipment as necessary.
- Conducts inspections of incoming shipments and documents any damages, completing necessary paperwork.
- Utilizes key software such as UPS ShipExec and Bear River, adhering to all mail/package handling and security protocols.
- Ensures that dock and job safety practices align with OSHA and NetApp standards.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or approved GED; Bachelor's Degree preferred but not mandatory.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Shipping & Receiving or Distribution operations is preferred.
- Strong customer service skills, along with effective written and verbal communication abilities.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance for hazardous and non-hazardous materials, both domestically and internationally.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with Oracle or similar ERP systems.
Compensation
The base salary range for this position is competitive and will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and education. Final compensation packages reflect industry standards and may include a comprehensive benefits package covering Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Retirement Plans, Paid Time Off (PTO), various Leave options, Performance-Based Incentives, employee stock purchase plans, and/or restricted stocks (RSUs), subject to regional variations and governed by local laws and company policies.
