Role Overview

Your Role as a Project Lead Engineer

Are you prepared to embrace a pivotal position within the Client Engineering team, facilitating essential technical assurance functions? We seek a Project Lead Engineer to manage the design and execution of Onshore, Marine, or Crane systems for critical Client work packages. Your responsibilities will encompass the modernization and refurbishment of plant and equipment to align with contemporary standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct a multidisciplinary engineering team: Foster collaborative efforts to deliver exceptional solutions.
  • Assist the Client Project Manager: Supervise consultants and contractors to guarantee project success.
  • Develop and oversee work scopes: Define project requirements and conduct assurance activities.
  • Collaborate with BIM/CAD teams: Ensure designs fulfill project and stakeholder expectations.
  • Review and validate project documentation: Maintain high standards in project drawings and documentation.
  • Oversee construction operations: Ensure adherence to design intent during project execution.
  • Lead meetings and design evaluations: Facilitate discussions to achieve project milestones.
  • Provide technical oversight: Supervise commissioning and decommissioning, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Deliver engineering presentations: Communicate effectively with stakeholders and team members.
  • Ensure safety and compliance: Uphold Environment, Health, Safety, Security, and Quality standards throughout the project.

Qualifications

Essential Attributes:

Qualifications, Skills, or Experience:

  • Degree-level qualification in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline.
  • Chartered Engineer status or eligibility to achieve chartered status (demonstration of ongoing professional development).
  • Preferred background in Mechanical, Civil, or Structural Engineering.

Experience Required:

  • Project engineering of work packages, including site implementation/integration, within a highly regulated environment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Compliance with legislation and standards in a highly regulated industry.
  • Experience in producing technical documentation such as reports, specifications, and technical queries.
  • Effective liaison with a range of stakeholders.
  • Basic health and safety training for site visits.
  • Familiarity with nuclear safety cases (desirable).
