We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join our team at the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF). The successful candidate will participate in ongoing research programmes, operate the beamline, provide support to external users, and develop their own research programme.
About the Beamline
Beamline ID15B is a premier X-ray powder and single crystal diffraction station dedicated to research at extreme pressures and temperatures. The combination of high-resolution XRD and advanced sample environments opens up new possibilities in the study of matter at very high pressures and temperatures.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research in high-pressure and high-temperature science using X-ray diffraction techniques
- Operate and maintain the beamline, ensuring optimal performance and safety
- Provide support to external users, including training and assistance with experiments
- Develop and implement new research programmes in collaboration with the beamline team
Requirements
- PhD in Earth and planetary science or a closely related field obtained within the last three years
- Strong background in X-ray diffraction and high-pressure techniques using diamond anvil cells
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- English proficiency (working language at the ESRF)
