About the Role

Pacific International Executive Search is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Manager to join a fast-growing chemical manufacturing business in Lyon, France. The organization is a world leader in the production of heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration systems, serving customers globally from residential to industrial applications.

The company's chemical manufacturing business unit produces chemicals incorporated in their products and for wholesale into other industries. As part of their transformation process to modernize and professionalize the plant, they are looking for a Maintenance Manager to lead a team of maintenance technicians and sub-contractors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Maintenance team and support the Technical Director of the plant in managing site maintenance procedures to ensure equipment availability and reliability.
  • Implement a predictive and preventative maintenance program to increase equipment service life and optimize performance.
  • Improve the reliability of critical equipment and manage the Maintenance team to achieve common goals.
  • Assess critical equipment daily and implement interventions to avoid future issues and failures.
  • Participate in updating and improving preventative and predictive maintenance plans.
  • Create and manage the spare part plan, ensuring stock management and equipment availability.
  • Ensure proper application of the HSEQMS and participate in control of known applied documentation and records.
  • Provide technical support to staff on equipment operation, breakdowns, etc.
  • Be a naturally inquisitive and analytical problem solver.

Requirements

  • Degree in maintenance engineering or relevant experience for several years in a similar function.
  • Experience in continuous manufacturing processes.
  • Critical thinking: ability to work under pressure and calculate risk.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • English - Professional proficiency.
