Software Support Specialist

Applied Materials is a leading company in the supply of innovative machinery, services, and software used in Semiconductors' production, flat-screen monitors, and Photovoltaic-Solar. We are seeking a skilled Software (Technical) Support Engineer to join our team in Crolles, France, supporting our PDC (Inspection & Metrology) tools.
Key Responsibilities:- Software System Troubleshooting - Analyze reported problems, validate solutions, and provide rapid resolution on systemic issues.
- Understand, research, and resolve internal and external application and systems issues of moderate difficulty.
- Software Installation & Imaging - Install and configure software and images on ELS/NPI/FIF tools, document and perform first-of-a-kind installs on HVM tools, and develop and train on software procedures.
- Software Test & Validation - Collect and incorporate customer-specific test scenarios, construct simulators for testing and troubleshooting, and execute test plans to validate software releases.
- Create, test, and verify installation/upgrade instructions for Applied Materials' product releases.
- Participate in product design, testing, and documentation reviews as appropriate.
- Provide off-hours customer support via pager and cellular telephone as scheduled.
- Attend AMAT classes in designated product lines and external classes for third-party software.
- Customer Engagement & Training - Foster customer trust in AMAT software, consult on Factory Automation (FA) scenarios, and resolve questions on tool operations and settings.
- Provide ongoing training to customers and customer engineers for technical products and systems issues.
- Assist in analysis of customer OS performance, integration, and database management issues.
