Job Title: Software (Technical) Support Engineer

Applied Materials, a leading global company in the semiconductor industry, is seeking a skilled Software (Technical) Support Engineer to join our team in Crolles, France.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Software System Troubleshooting: Analyze reported problems, validate solutions, and provide troubleshooting plans to discover root causes.
  • Understand, research, and resolve internal and external application and systems issues of moderate difficulty.
  • Software Installation & Imaging: Install and configure software and images on ELS/NPI/FIF tools, document and perform first-of-kind installs on HVM tools, and develop and train on software procedures.
  • Software Test & Validation: Collect and incorporate customer-specific test scenarios, construct simulators for testing and troubleshooting, and execute test plans to validate software releases.
  • Create, test, and verify installation/upgrade instructions for Applied Materials' product releases.
  • Participate in product design, testing, and documentation reviews as appropriate.
  • Provide off-hours customer support via pager and cellular telephone as scheduled.
  • Attend AMAT classes in designated product lines and external classes for third-party software.
  • Customer Engagement & Training: Foster customer trust in AMAT software, consult on factory automation scenarios, and resolve questions on tool operations and settings.
  • Provide ongoing training to customers and customer engineers for technical products and systems issues.
  • Assist in analysis of customer OS performance, integration, and database management issues.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or Automation Engineering.
  • 2-4 years of experience in software support, technical support, or a related field.
  • Fluent in French and English.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time, mainly in Europe, with headquarters in the US.
