About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Sommelier Assistant to join our team at the Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat, A Four Seasons Hotel. As a key member of our wine service team, you will be responsible for assisting our sommeliers in preparing and serving wines and spirits to our discerning guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist sommeliers in wine service, including wine pouring, glassware management, and wine storage
- Provide exceptional service to guests, including wine recommendations and pairing suggestions
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of wine lists, including wine descriptions, prices, and pairing recommendations
- Work closely with the sommelier team to ensure seamless service and high-quality wine experiences
- Participate in wine tastings and training sessions to stay up-to-date on the latest wine trends and developments
Requirements:
- Fluent French language skills, with a strong understanding of wine terminology and concepts
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of wine and spirits, including wine regions, grape varieties, and wine-making techniques
- Experience in a fine dining or luxury hospitality environment, with a strong understanding of wine service protocols and procedures
- Availability to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
