Job Title: Cloud Operations Engineer – Monitoring/Logging/Splunk

Business Context:

As we transition to cloud infrastructure, our logging framework is being redefined around Splunk, a premier solution for aggregating and analyzing data from diverse origins.

Did you know that Amadeus applications produce an astonishing 3 petabytes of logs daily?
This positions us as a leading customer of Splunk.

Logs play a crucial role in assisting our internal stakeholders with investigations and reducing mean time to recovery; we invite you to collaborate with us in developing a cost-effective, automated, scalable, and robust logging framework utilizing the Splunk Kubernetes operator.

The collection of logs and deriving insights from them in Splunk are integral to our mission, making the logging transition to the cloud a rich and multifaceted experience.

Your Key Responsibilities:

Core accountabilities:

  • Mentor Splunk users to maximize their utilization of the platform.
  • Create automation solutions to manage numerous Splunk clusters within Kubernetes.
  • Oversee Splunk administration and operations.
  • Produce user and technical documentation.
  • Design and maintain libraries (C++ or Java) and components for interacting with Splunk to facilitate data transfer.
  • Develop tools and processes aimed at optimizing costs, performance, and user experience, ultimately enhancing observability services.

Required Skills:

  • Passion for observability, logging, and Splunk.
  • Strong communication skills and a keen interest in support functions.
  • Proficiency in Kubernetes and HELM.
  • Familiarity with Amadeus logging frameworks/libraries and investigative practices is advantageous.
  • Experience with automation tools (Jenkins, ArgoCD); knowledge of Terraform and Ansible is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Python or Go is beneficial.
  • Understanding of Splunk is a plus.
  • Knowledge of MS Azure is a plus.
