Job Title: Drilling Method Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Drilling Method Engineer to join our team for a gas project, 100% offshore. The successful candidate will be part of a team of 25 persons and will start in June.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and select the most suitable installation methodology for the project scope.
  • Develop work procedures and detailed task plans in accordance with project requirements, HSE, and quality standards.
  • Establish installation documents, considering the schedule of deliverables to the client.
  • Ensure timely follow-up of client comments and document approval.
  • Define the scope of work to be subcontracted and establish subcontractors' scope of work.
  • Establish a list of equipment required for the activity.
  • Collaborate with the project procurement manager to call for tenders and analyze subcontractors' proposals.
  • Participate in the selection of subcontractors/suppliers and validate technical dossiers.
  • Establish schedules for equipment supply and resource allocation, as well as the overall activity schedule.
  • Prepare technical reviews of procedures for the project and corporate technical team comments and approval.
  • Work in liaison with the operation engineer to ensure the feasibility of the operation as per the procedure.
  • Participate in the process of lessons learned.
  • The Method Engineer may follow the operation at site and ensure the correct understanding of work procedures, prepare the work kick-off meeting with the internal team/subcontractor team and client representative.
  • Once in operation, the Method Engineer ensures that the work is performed in compliance with the procedure and task plan and in the time frame as estimated in the operation schedule.
  • In case of change, he/she proposes alternative methods and participates actively in the management of change.
Main Knowledge:
  • General technical knowledge of offshore/marine works.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of physical phenomena related to work at sea.
  • Understanding of equipment used for offshore work.
  • Knowledge of offshore work procedures.
  • Knowledge of safety rules.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • MS Project competency.
  • Autocad and Orcaflex use.
  • Methods: drilling/piling/heavy lift.
