Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement flight safety objectives with external institutions to improve the ATR fleet flight safety performance, ensuring a major impact on the long-term safety performance of our operators, associated authorities, and other institutions.
- Develop the strategy to improve the safety context of developing markets for ATR, focusing on the prevention of injury or loss of life.
- Identify flight safety risks and opportunities for specific customers or regions, with a focus on prevention.
- Develop innovative concepts within the regional aviation ecosystem, with a long-term positive impact on safety performance.
- Develop external safety communication to stakeholders, reflecting our ambition to be a reference for flight safety within commercial aviation.
- Represent ATR and the interests of our customers, influencing key stakeholder leadership as the voice for regional aviation safety.
- Provide operational and maintenance recommendations to the ATR Flight Safety Officer and, when needed, to the ATR Flight Safety Board.
- Implement and monitor the success of agreed actions in conjunction with associated departments.
- Solve regional, complex, and potentially unprecedented problems impacting multiple organizations within the flight safety system, relevant to several functions/operators.
- Chair the Regional Safety Plan steering committees and associated meetings, ensuring implementation of agreed safety actions with senior management and senior experts.
- Coordinate, lead, and be the focal point for support activities launched via the Regional Safety Plan, including strong coordination with Regional Safety Managers based in Singapore, Miami, and Addis Ababa.
- Lead or influence safety action plans launched with senior leaders within our stakeholder community, such as Airbus, ICAO, IATA, FSF, local authorities, and customers.
- Develop a face-to-face network with customers and institutions, strengthening our online multimedia presence reflective of the needs of different cultures and generations.
- Interface with various departments, including Customer Care, Technical Desk, Sales, Flight Operations, ATR Training Center, Public Affairs, Legal, Engineering, Finance, Programs, Miami & Singapore centers, and externally with operators, authorities, international organizations, and senior management members of the ATR Flight Safety Board.
- Support the overall accident response process during the initial period of the investigation.
- Disseminate lessons learned and best practices based on investigation feedback.
- Influence ATR product policy when deemed beneficial to safety objectives.
- 10+ years of experience within the aviation industry.
- Advanced influencing skills.
- Knowledge of commercial aircraft operations.
- Knowledge of international safety management systems, safety institutions, and authorities.
- Strong inter-cultural skills.
- Robust reporting, speak-up, and follow-up competencies.
- A commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company's success, reputation, and sustainable growth.
