Sourcing Excellence Specialist for Petrochemical Projects

The Petrochemical Pole of Berre is a major industrial complex covering nearly 1,000 hectares in the south of France. This site includes state-of-the-art facilities such as steam crackers, polypropylene and polyethylene units, chemical units, and logistics facilities like ports, pipelines, storage, and distribution terminals.

We are currently looking for a Sourcing Excellence Specialist (F/M) to join our team at the petrochemical site in Berre.

The purpose of this role is to create value by providing strategic input into the development and implementation of sourcing strategies, agreements, and related work processes aligned with our global strategy. This position will support various clients across the business and functions, responsible for category areas, while being an active team member with accountability for diverse sourcing activities.

• Execute the sourcing process, effectively sourcing segments and commodities with increasing complexity and medium value.
• Understand and drive strategies for assigned segments or commodities to meet sourcing objectives, assessing supplier capabilities through KPI analysis and making recommendations on supplier acceptability. Identify and qualify new suppliers as needed.
• Own sourcing events and contracts up to €10 million, ensuring high ethical and financial control compliance standards are met by the organization. Maximize revenue share and control costs by responding to audits, surveys, or other information requests from internal and external sources.
• Support Category Managers in driving external ASP (Advance Supplier Potential) and internal ACP (Advance Competitiveness Potential) initiatives.
• Support Category Managers during complex sourcing initiatives through data modeling and analysis, change management, and new process execution.
• Articulate LYB procurement policies and standards, encouraging and enforcing compliance. Answer inquiries requiring interpretation of policies and contribute to a strong governance culture by complying with appropriate governance policies and procedures.
• Independently execute procurement processes based on our contract standards, including market inquiries, bid comparisons, and negotiation execution. Support LyondellBasell's sustainability efforts as one of the key elements of the procurement strategy in supplier management.

• Masters' degree in sciences or engineering (Technical Degree) or comparable technical degrees.
• 3+ years of work experience in purchasing, maintenance, engineering, or project execution.
• Knowledge of negotiation, presentation, and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in MS-Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and SAP and ARIBA-skills.
• Knowledge to create 7-step sourcing strategies (Kearney method) and Should Cost Model (Anklesaria).
• French fluent and English business fluent; a third European language is a plus.
