Job Purpose and Scope
The Industry and Technology Development Team is part of the Science and Technology department of the Refractory, Abrasives, and Construction business area at Imerys.
This position supports the RAC organization to ensure the product portfolio remains competitive, innovative, cost-effective, and sustainable by optimizing conventional processes and testing new technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development of new processes or products, from pilot to industrial plant.
- Select and evaluate the industrial route to reduce time to market and capital expenditure costs.
- Implement technical strategies for new sustainable processes, including design and utilization of pilot facilities and equipment.
- Contribute to external financing demands.
- Optimize conventional processes using new methodologies and support existing methodologies and subjects.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and participate in industrial trials.
- Write reports on different actions, including visits, trials, and studies.
- Ensure strong interactions with the S&T, engineering, and industrial processes of Imerys.
- Contribute transversally within the RAC Business Area and possibly to other Business Areas.
- Care for adequate interaction with potential funds, academic labs, and external private companies.
- Travel to required sites for industrial testing, up to 25% of the time.
- Visit conferences as part of the job.
- Support the Imerys Safety and Health strategy and contribute to achieving related targets.
Job Specifications
- Science, Mechanical, Chemical, or Material Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar position in industry, with technical competencies on Reverberatory, Rotatory, Glass kilns air emissions, and air treatments.
- Expertise in mass and heat balances, fluid dynamics, heat transfer, thermodynamics, combustion, kinetics, and/or process engineering.
- Project management and engineering cost evaluation.
