Lead the Way in Safety and Compliance
Newrest is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Safety Director to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing sustainable safety leadership and management systems across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety and security policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local legislation and codes governing environmental health and safety of our daily operations.
- Drive continuous environmental, health, safety, and security improvement through the implementation, certification, and application of Newrest policies.
- Conduct safety training programs for employees at all levels to ensure understanding of safety practices and compliance with regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.
- Oversee the investigation of accidents and incidents, reports, recommend improvements to prevent future occurrences, and oversee risk analysis reports.
- Develop and implement emergency response plans, conducting drills and training exercises to prepare staff for emergencies.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and other applicable safety laws by executing as requested.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all safety-related inquiries and concerns, fostering open communication about safety issues.
- Supervise and manage a team of safety professionals with optimal daily tasks to protect the safety of our employees and assets.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma required.
- Bachelor's in Operations, Logistics, Business Management, or related field strongly preferred.
- 5-10 years' experience in manufacturing, logistics, or food industry managing 100+ non-exempt level employees.
- Ability to work outdoors and varying temperatures and environments.
- Must have a valid active Driver's License.
- Ability to pass all required airport security clearance.
