Credit Solutions Product Expert

The Team: This role presents an exciting opportunity to become part of the Credit and Risk Solutions commercial team, a focused and dynamic group that has experienced significant growth and product innovation in recent years. The primary responsibility of the Credit Solutions Product Expert is to assist Sales Specialists in maximizing and utilizing S&P Global's capabilities by offering extensive knowledge of credit solutions, including our quantitative market signal models and fundamentals-based models (Probability of Default and Loss Given Default), as well as qualitative credit assessment scorecards, research, and data, to aid our clients in navigating complex credit risk management challenges.

The Impact: The Credit and Risk Solutions business plays a vital role in the overall expansion of the Market Intelligence Division. The product suite is integral to this growth narrative, serving as the distribution channel for proprietary content and providing models and workflow tools essential for managing credit workflows for rated and unrated entities, counterparties, customers, and suppliers. The position of Credit Solutions Product Expert is crucial for the success of the business. In an increasingly intricate and competitive landscape, credit products cannot be effectively marketed without the expertise of the Credit Solutions Product Expert. These experts lend credibility and knowledge to the sales and retention process, making the role both impactful and highly visible, while also requiring collaboration with numerous internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Build relationships with Sales Specialists and Product Managers to diagnose, design, and deliver credit workflow solutions tailored to the European market.
  • Align with commercial and product strategies for credit offerings and implement comprehensive pre-sales and post-sales plans.
  • Act as a credit product subject matter expert across various functional groups.
  • Exhibit excellence in S&P Global's credit capabilities.
  • Assist clients in establishing robust frameworks for integrating ESG factors into their credit assessment processes and understanding the potential impacts of ESG on their credit portfolios.
  • Develop initiatives and campaigns aimed at driving revenue growth for specific market segments and support client retention efforts related to credit products.
  • Maintain strong connections with strategic credit customers in the market.
  • Collaborate internally to design and deliver credit training on relevant products.
  • Engage in thought leadership activities, including speaking at relevant conferences and participating in S&P Global credit webinars.
  • Stay informed about competitors and their relative strengths.
  • Conduct Proof of Concepts, assist in Requests for Proposals, and manage test cases for regulatory compliance such as IFRS9.

What We're Looking For:

  • Comprehensive understanding of credit risk management.
  • Deep knowledge of complex client credit risk workflows across various segments (Corporates, Commercial and Investment Banking, Insurance, and Investment Management).
  • Ability to confidently interact with team members, prospects, clients, and cross-functional teams within the organization, including Product Management, Education, Legal, and Marketing.
  • Proficient in solving complex problems and, when necessary, adopting new perspectives using expert judgment.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-driven with a strong desire to succeed and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience in credit and risk management.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and credit modeling capabilities.
  • Fluency in the German language is essential.
