About the Job

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Microbiology Risk Management Leader to join our team at Danone. As a key member of our Quality and Food Safety department, you will be responsible for driving our microbiological quality and food safety initiatives across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Support
    • Provide expert microbiological support to our business teams, including risk assessments, scientific positions, and environmental monitoring plans.
    • Develop and implement microbiological quality and food safety standards for our products and processes.
  • Risk Management
    • Identify, assess, and mitigate microbiological risks across the value chain.
    • Develop and implement risk management strategies to ensure the safety of our products and consumers.
  • Training and Communication
    • Design and deliver training programs to build microbiological capabilities across the organization.
    • Communicate microbiological risk assessments and risk management strategies to stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • PhD in Microbiology or Master/Engineering Degree or equivalent.
    • 20 years' experience in a food-related industry, preferably with similar product categories to those in General Population Danone.
  • Technical Skills
    • Food Microbiology (criteria and verification plans, predictive modeling, challenge tests, thermo-resistance, fermentation).
    • Risk Analysis (HACCP, statistics, sampling plans by attributes).
    • Q&FS hazards in food and packaging (pathogens and spoilage microflora and their by-products).
  • Language Skills
    • Fluent in English, additional language nice to have (French and/or Spanish).
