Job Description

CSL Vifor, a global leader in iron deficiency and nephrology, is seeking a highly skilled Head of Policy, Advocacy & Government Affairs to join our team in Paris, France.

About the Role

We are looking for a seasoned professional with a strong background in public affairs, policy, and government affairs to drive our policy agenda in France. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to shape policy outcomes and funding opportunities that support our business goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement policy strategies to support our business objectives in France.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including parliamentarians, government agencies, coalitions, academics, KOLs, and advocacy groups.

  • Drive the development of policy materials, including submissions, position papers, and policy briefs.

  • Collaborate with our European policy and advocacy teams to ensure alignment and consistency in our policy approach.

  • Provide policy analysis and insights to inform business decisions and drive commercial results.

  • Manage agency partners in France to ensure effective delivery of policy services.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of experience in public affairs, policy, and government affairs roles, preferably in a large, complex organization.

  • University or Bachelor's degree, with a Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., political science, public policy, public health, or MBA/JD) being an advantage.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence at senior levels, collaborate within a matrixed organization, and drive outstanding commercial results through effective policy, advocacy, and government affairs strategies.

  • Deep knowledge and nuanced understanding of the European pharma/biotech/vaccines landscape and related political affairs, with a particular focus on the public health environment in France.

  • Well-established stakeholder relationships and networks with key decision makers, opinion leaders, and advocacy groups in the influenza community in France.

  • Strong business acumen with the ability to grasp the implications and act on complex and multi-dimensional issues that impact our industry.

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to represent and speak on behalf of CSL Vifor in high-level meetings and public forums.

  • Excellent organizational, planning, and project management skills involving cross-functional teams.

  • Fluency in French and English.
