Role Overview
The Financial Controller will collaborate with various operational units across multiple regions and entities, playing a crucial role in our Central Group controlling Team, reporting directly to the Global Function Controlling manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Monthly Financial Closing: Oversee and manage the monthly financial closing activities for GSF & LSF, ensuring precision and punctuality. Develop and maintain tracking templates for accruals during the closing period, and perform variance analyses to compare actuals against budget and prior year figures.
- Business Review Preparation: Design a comprehensive slide deck for the monthly Business Review tailored to specific functions. Provide detailed analyses of actual financial outcomes and prepare forecasts for the P&L cost base. Monitor Full-Time Equivalents (FTE) baselines to maintain control over labor costs. Facilitate regular discussions with key stakeholders, including GSF controllers and function heads, to review costs and financial forecasts, and present monthly reports to senior management, including the Executive Committee.
- Budget Coordination: Collaborate with stakeholders to develop the annual budget for the functions. Lead the budget construction process across GMUs, sub-functions, and entities, ensuring the accuracy and consistency of budget submissions. Input the finalized budget into the financial system (AFO).
- Ad Hoc Analysis and Support: Conduct various analyses as requested by the GSF controller, managing requests efficiently and bridging gaps between GSF and local controllers as needed. Assist in reconciling and addressing auditor inquiries.
Candidate Profile
- Master’s degree or equivalent in Finance/Accounting.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel is essential.
- Familiarity with SAP (FI-CO-CRM-ESS Cats) is preferred.
- Knowledge of IFRS/IAS is advantageous.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, ideally within a service company or financial institution.
- Strong analytical skills with a meticulous approach and attention to detail.
- Integrity and the ability to raise concerns when necessary.
- Business acumen with a focus on providing support and added value.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with senior management.
- Adaptability to work in a complex and dynamic environment.
- Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight reporting deadlines.
