Position Overview

The Vice President, European Operations is a pivotal leadership role tasked with directing and managing Hex Trust's business and strategic initiatives across Europe. This position demands a comprehensive understanding of the rapidly evolving digital asset landscape, senior management experience across various markets, and a keen awareness of regulatory compliance within the European context. The role reports directly to the Chief Network Officer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a strategic collaborator with the senior management team at Hex Trust, overseeing operations in the European region and actively contributing to business growth in alignment with the overall objectives of the organization. Provide leadership and mentorship to the team, nurturing a culture of innovation, teamwork, and excellence;
  • Lead business development and profit & loss management in the European region, working closely with internal stakeholders, including Sales & Business Development and Relationship Management teams, to understand client needs and ensure effective client engagement;
  • Formulate new strategies to accelerate Hex Trust's market presence in Europe, enhance the business model, and implement these strategies effectively;
  • Manage the daily operations of business interests in the European region, ensuring the security, scalability, and reliability of Hex Trust's custody infrastructure. Establish robust controls, risk management frameworks, and operational processes to protect clients' assets and uphold the highest service delivery standards;
  • Remain informed about the changing regulatory environment in Europe, assisting with licensing application processes as necessary and ensuring compliance with all pertinent regulations, including AML/KYC, data protection, and cybersecurity standards. Build and maintain strong relationships with regulatory bodies, industry associations, and external stakeholders;
  • Encourage effective cross-functional collaboration by partnering closely with local operations, HR, and administrative teams, while also ensuring timely assessments of business performance;
  • Facilitate the organization's relationships with local banking institutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant discipline such as finance or business administration;
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience within the digital asset ecosystem, providing the necessary expertise for the role;
  • Extensive background in digital asset custody or related sectors, with a profound understanding of blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies, supported by a proven track record of active involvement in the digital asset space;
  • Familiarity with custody infrastructure, decentralized finance (DeFi) products, and industry best practices in the digital asset domain;
  • Current knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in the digital asset and blockchain sectors;
  • Strong understanding of the European regulatory framework, including evolving regulations for digital assets and their supporting products, AML/KYC, data protection, and cybersecurity regulations;
  • Demonstrated success in leadership and management roles, with the capability to develop and implement strategic plans;
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to cultivate relationships with clients, regulators, and internal stakeholders;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on operational efficiency and risk management;
  • Proficient in Google Workspace, particularly Sheets and Slides.
