You will be responsible for initiating and leading projects with high school students in a collaborative team environment. Your role will involve working closely with the educational staff of the institution (CPE, educators, administrators) to coordinate assistance for students throughout their academic journey.

Your Service Civique mission

Goals

Through Afev, numerous volunteers dedicate their time each year to assist young individuals facing educational challenges and to foster connections within disadvantaged communities. By addressing educational and social disparities, they contribute to the development of a more equitable and supportive society.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in the vibrancy of school life, support student initiatives, and facilitate group workshops.
  • Your time will be split between the high school (two days a week) and the Afev local office.
  • Organize enjoyable workshops on civic themes such as secularism, gender equality, and bullying prevention.
  • Help enhance the school environment by providing stimulating workshops for students.
  • Oversee student support, acting as a key resource for young people, volunteers, families, and community partners.
  • Establish trusting relationships with students.

Collaborate with the team to recruit new volunteers and foster this community.

Mentor one or more high school students for two hours each week in their educational pursuits.

Your Work Environment

Training Requirements

Participate in initial and ongoing training throughout your mission, and attend team meetings with fellow volunteers and Afev staff.

Support and Guidance

Receive assistance from the Afev team, including personalized support for future initiatives.

Afev Limoges is an organization that has been engaging volunteers and student volunteers in community service activities in their local neighborhoods for three decades. They focus on educational mentoring, social integration, and promoting social responsibility within higher education. Afev provides opportunities to encourage youth involvement and combat socio-educational inequalities.
