Relationship Director

As a Relationship Director at Barclays, you will play a pivotal role in managing a portfolio of clients within the Financial Institutions transaction banking segment. Your primary responsibility will be to take a lead role in relationship management, new business origination, and effective risk management of the portfolio by owning key client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage client relationships to identify financial goals, challenges, and risk tolerance to support data analysis and trend identification.
- Research and understand industry trends, regulatory landscapes, and competitive environments to inform strategic recommendations.
- Design customised solutions addressing client needs and objectives, incorporating a range of products and services from the bank's portfolio.
- Communicate value propositions, justify recommendations, and negotiate terms beneficial for both clients and the bank.
- Provide guidance to clients on financial decisions, offering expert investment advice, risk management, and wealth management strategies support.
- Assess financial, legal, and operational risks associated with client relationships and implement measures to minimise potential losses.
- Document client interactions, transactions, and agreements to ensure transparency and auditability.
- Monitor client satisfaction, revenue generated, and other relevant metrics to evaluate relationship management effectiveness.
- Advise stakeholders on functional and cross-functional areas of impact and alignment.
- Manage and mitigate risks through assessment, supporting the control and governance agenda.
- Demonstrate leadership and accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls.
- Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of organisational functions to contribute to achieving business goals.
- Collaborate with other areas of work to keep up to speed with business activity and strategies.
- Create solutions based on sophisticated analytical thought, comparing and selecting complex alternatives.
- Adopt and include the outcomes of extensive research in problem-solving processes.
- Seek out, build, and maintain trusting relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
