We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Software Department Head to lead our software engineering team at Alstom. As a key member of our Digital & Integrated Systems business unit, you will play a pivotal role in driving technological innovation and excellence within the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Technical Leadership: Define and implement technical strategies and roadmaps in alignment with the business's objectives, ensuring that software solutions align with the Alstom Urban Platform's strategic goals and meet quality standards.
- Team Management: Manage the software engineering department's resource allocation, including internal and external teams, to drive software excellence and operational efficiency.
- Software Development: Oversee the design, development, and delivery of high-quality software products, ensuring adherence to best practices in coding, testing, and deployment.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with product management, design, and other stakeholders to ensure successful product releases and ensure that programs-projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Process Improvement: Drive the resolution of technical challenges and lead efforts to improve software engineering processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety railways standards.
- At least 3-5 years of experience leading large teams, and 7 or more years of software engineering experience.
- A strong foundation in embedded software development practices, programming languages, architecture, and system design.
- Management and knowledge of alternative practices such as Agile is desirable.
- Technical knowledge in language RBSE or MBSE is desirable.
- Ability to lead and manage teams effectively, with strong communication and mentoring skills.
- Commitment to fostering diversity and inclusivity, and a supportive environment for learning and growth.
