About the Role
Accor Hotels is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Chief Financial Officer to join its team in Nairobi, Kenya. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and auditing.
Job Description
- Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and auditing.
- Assist the Director of Finance in managing the finance department and ensuring the integrity of the hotel's transactions and adherence to legislative requirements.
- Communicate with public auditors, government bodies, accounting/finance associations, banks, and financial agencies.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of current financial and budget status to senior management.
- Develop and implement benchmarking techniques to enhance revenues while improving productivity and cost efficiencies.
- Plan for future staffing needs (succession planning) and plan for the Director of Finance and Assistant Director of Finance for the region.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Business, Finance, or a relevant field of work, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
- Minimum of five years of work experience as a Director of Finance, preferably in multiple progressive, in size and complexity hotels, including all areas of finance and accounting.
- Experience with accounting systems or similar financial software for the purpose of financial reporting, analysis, and presentation.
- Demonstrated knowledge of finance, budgeting, and accounting processes and regulations, with demonstrated knowledge of capital project management, standards, and techniques, and GAAP regulations and procedures.
- Ability to make decisions based on analytical data gathered and directly influence business operating decisions made by senior management.
