Job Title: Legal Affairs Manager at Banque Delubac et Cie

As a Legal Affairs Manager, you serve as a key advisor to the internal teams of Banque Delubac et Cie, ensuring that the legal interests of the bank and its subsidiaries are safeguarded in disputes and challenging situations (pre-litigation, unpaid debts, and formal cases).

Your role also encompasses managing client and supplier grievances and addressing specific inquiries from various departments regarding banking and financial legislation.

You are responsible for the effective management and appropriate resolution of pre-litigation matters (case management strategies, dispute resolution protocols within the Legal Division).

This position is crucial in minimizing the bank's outstanding debts to mitigate the risks associated with legal disputes in banking operations by proactively engaging in amicable or pre-litigation recovery efforts.

  • Core Responsibilities

Daily and Routine Responsibilities

  • Provide legal counsel to the bank's operational units and its subsidiaries on issues related to disputes and pre-litigious matters.
  • Ensure the effective management and proper handling of pre-litigation cases and situations requiring attention (case management strategies, amicable procedures: reminders, formal notices, dispute resolution, debt recovery, transactional agreements...). This responsibility notably includes minimizing the bank's unpaid debts to reduce the risk of legal conflicts in banking operations.
  • Oversee and direct a portfolio of contentious cases in collaboration with the Bank's Legal Counsel.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to determine the action plan for each case requiring intervention.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Represent the Legal Division in various Committees, particularly the Litigation Committee.
  • Prepare reports on pre-litigation and litigation activities.

  • Expertise in contentious and pre-litigious procedures with a solid understanding of banking law, security rights law, assignment of claims, and credit.
  • Comprehension of fundamental banking regulations.
  • In-depth knowledge of banking and investment services and products.
  • Adept at identifying issues, diagnosing problems, and proposing actionable solutions in the context of complaints, pre-litigation, and litigation.

Candidates should possess a postgraduate degree in banking and financial law or banking law and management.

A minimum of 5 years of experience in a bank's litigation department or in a law firm specializing in litigation is required.
