The Finance division at La Salle University is strategically located to support various functions. This team is composed of Fund Managers, Financial Controllers, Treasurers, and a Business Technology Solutions Manager, all working in synergy to enhance the financial operations of the institution.Role and Responsibilities: The Financial Operations Controller is tasked with overseeing all aspects of accounting, financial reporting, and compliance with statutory and tax regulations for a diverse range of client accounts and pooled investment funds. This role is crucial in providing essential financial insights and support to various departments, collaborating closely with transaction and portfolio management teams. The Financial Operations Controller will also assist in performance analysis and reporting, while providing vital support during acquisition and asset management transactions, including structuring, due diligence, financing, and sale agreements. Regular interaction with external accountants, property managers, tax advisors, and financial institutions is expected.
Aid the Fund Finance Manager in generating monthly NAV/unit price calculations and quarterly financial reports. Oversee compliance with statutory and tax obligations for associated entities. Lead the external audit process to secure an unqualified opinion on financial statements. Manage the preparation of regular investor reports, including TGER, SDDS, and SOLVENCY. Direct the accounting and reporting processes, ensuring alignment with local regulations and fund documentation, including quarterly financial statements, annual statutory accounts, and cash flow forecasts. Guarantee the accuracy and efficiency of reporting through collaboration with external and internal accountants. Coordinate the engagement of external advisors as necessary, ensuring cost-effectiveness. Collaborate with external advisors and internal tax teams to ensure comprehensive tax planning and compliance across all portfolio entities, identifying opportunities and risks. Oversee annual legal requirements for portfolio companies, including capital adjustments, dividend distributions, mergers, and liquidations. Manage cash flow to ensure sufficient funds for transactions and efficient repatriation of surplus funds to investors in conjunction with portfolio management. Support acquisition and sales transactions by working closely with operations on deal structuring, due diligence, and financial modeling. Assist local, European, and US teams in providing necessary financial and tax data for their analyses. Collaborate with Asset Management and Portfolio teams to develop forecasts, budgets, and analytical reviews for all entities. Establish strong relationships with internal fund and asset managers, external property managers, and other stakeholders regarding financial matters. Conduct ongoing assessments to ensure robust internal controls and participate in internal audits. Assist in implementing best practices in all aspects of fund accounting.Qualifications & Experience Required:
Qualified accountant (CPA designation, business school or equivalent). Minimum of 4 years of finance experience in an international context, preferably within an auditing firm or investment services. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively at all organizational levels. Proficient technical accounting skills. Excellent problem-solving and analytical capabilities. Self-motivated and proactive in approach. Diligent and capable of meeting deadlines. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Highly organized with a keen attention to detail.
