Social Support Coordinator in Community Services (F/M)

The Department of Haute-Vienne

The Department of Haute-Vienne, employing approximately 2,000 staff across 200 diverse roles, stands as a significant public sector employer in the region. Within the Haute-Vienne department, five Department Houses (MDD) are staffed by a managerial team and a range of medical-social and administrative professionals who implement social action strategies, child welfare initiatives, integration efforts, and support for the elderly and individuals with disabilities. These facilities serve as welcoming spaces for users to receive guidance, information, and support on matters under the jurisdiction of the Departmental Council.

Consequently, a dedicated team of 375 professionals, including social and medical-social workers and administrative personnel, provides essential support to the most vulnerable members of our community.

The South Haute-Vienne Department House comprises eight locations where a Director, four managers, and a multidisciplinary team of 39 professionals (including secretaries, social support coordinators, preventive educational advisors, family placement educational advisors, social and family economy counselors, social and family intervention technicians, physicians, pediatric nurses, nurses, midwives, and specialized social workers) collaborate.

Position Overview

Under the supervision of the social support manager, you will assist individuals or families in navigating the most appropriate support services for their specific challenges.

Key Responsibilities

In this position, you will be expected to:

  • Welcome, inform, guide, and assist individuals or families in accessing the most suitable support services for their challenges,
  • Evaluate situations through support interviews and develop a comprehensive social intervention plan,
  • Initiate necessary mediation efforts with relevant organizations,
  • Participate in child welfare services and represent the department during initial hearings for educational assistance at the Children's Court,
  • Engage in services aimed at protecting vulnerable individuals,
  • Contribute to integration initiatives, particularly within the framework of social assistance programs,
  • Conduct social assessments,
  • Facilitate group support within collective projects and local social development initiatives,
  • Identify and report any issues to the supervisory line that could inform departmental health and social policy decisions.

Role Challenges and Requirements:

Travel to various municipalities in the region is required.

This job description may evolve based on ongoing considerations for enhancing localized social public policy implementation.

Required Qualifications and Attributes

Knowledge:

Must possess a State diploma in social service assistance,

Must hold a valid driving license B,

Strong understanding of the institution and its partners.

Skills:

Proficient in the use of office software,

Strong writing skills, analytical thinking, and synthesis capabilities,

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail,

Team-oriented mindset.

Working Conditions and Benefits

Full-time position, 39 hours and 30 minutes per week.
