Ministry Pioneer in International Schools

Young Life in France is seeking a full-time staff associate to pioneer ministry in international schools in Lyon, the second largest metropolitan area in France. This opportunity involves partnering with one or more international schools in Lyon, supported by a full-time American staff person living in Lyon.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Spiritual Leadership: Demonstrate spiritual leadership on a personal and professional level.
  • Direct Ministry: Participate in dynamic direct ministry with teenagers of multiple nationalities (in English).
  • Staff and Training Events: Participate in staff and training events as required.
  • Leader Development: Learn to recruit and train new leaders to build a relational team that reflects the community.
  • Volunteer Leader Development: Develop a plan to equip, disciple, and retain English-speaking volunteer leaders.
  • Committee Collaboration: Establish and collaborate with a Committee of local adults (in English).
  • Financial Support: Raise 100% of financial support and maintain good donor care practices with both local and U.S. donors.
  • Communication: Communicate ministry updates and progress to donors.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate information on kids, leaders, and donors for area records.
  • Professional Relationships: Maintain professional relationships with school administration as well as teachers.
  • Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality in an extremely secular country.
Requirements:
  • Cultural Adaptability: Curiosity, adaptability, and open-mindedness regarding French culture, as well as an eagerness to learn.
  • Language Skills: French language school and/or a college degree (or minor) in French is highly preferred.
  • Young Life Experience: Experience as a Young Life volunteer leader is required. Experience as a Young Life team leader is preferred.
  • Relational Skills: Ability to adapt and thrive in a multicultural, multilingual environment.
  • Entrepreneurial Mindset: Entrepreneurial skills and/or mindset.
  • Communication Skills: Proven relational skills with both teenagers and adults. Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Commitment: Three-year commitment required.
