OBJECTIVES OF THE ROLE:

Within our Alstom Digital & Integrated Systems division, the Saint-Ouen Development Centre is responsible for the design of Alstom Urban CBTC Signaling Solutions, including Urbalis 400, which has been implemented in over 100 projects worldwide, and Urbalis Fluence, our latest innovative Urban Signaling System.

The Solution Application Architects serve as the technical leaders responsible for defining the technical solutions for our Urban Signaling System proposals and overseeing the implementation of these solutions during project execution.

They play a crucial role in shaping the future of our Signaling Systems in upcoming applications, aligning with platform reuse strategies and market demands. Leading the design of Urban Signaling Systems is a complex challenge that necessitates a comprehensive understanding of intricate systems, general engineering expertise, and the ability to balance cutting-edge railway contexts with contemporary technical challenges such as cybersecurity, ecodesign, and data science.

Responsibilities of the Solution Application Architects:
  • Develop optimal design proposals and deployment strategies to fulfill customer requirements.
  • Communicate technical specifications and collaborate on solutions with Alstom's tender and project teams, customer interface teams, development teams, and strategic leaders.
  • Advocate for and elucidate our Systems and their technical benefits to potential or existing clients, as well as internally during training or communication sessions.
  • Contribute as System Experts to other Signaling Innovation Programs at Alstom.
As the Group Manager for Solution Application Architects, your responsibilities will include:
  • Managing the Solution Application Architects team.
  • Leading the Tendering activities and technical proposals at the St-Ouen Development Center.
  • Assisting in the formulation of the Urbalis Technical Roadmap (for Urbalis 400 and Fluence) and steering roadmap topics arising from tenders and future developments.
  • Acting as a Technical Authority and System Engineering Expert, overseeing critical Urbalis tenders and preliminary Design Reviews, and evaluating overall solution suitability.
  • Leading cross-functional technical initiatives as a System Engineering Expert.
CANDIDATE PROFILE:
  • Holder of a master's degree in Engineering or an equivalent university qualification, ideally with a focus on Rail Transportation Systems.
  • Preferred experience: 10 or more years in a comparable role (complex system architecture, system design, project engineering, validation, or operational safety) within a Transport organization, with experience in Rail Signaling being advantageous.
  • Proficient in resolving technical challenges: demonstrating rigor, critical thinking, and an analytical mindset, while also exhibiting creativity to synthesize various aspects of a technical issue and make informed decisions independently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for collaborative work, along with technical management: you thrive in team environments and technical coordination, are comfortable presenting to clients, and are motivated by multicultural settings.
  • Proficiency in English is essential.
