Cryogenic Engineer for Electric Propulsion Systems

Role Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Cryogenic Engineer to join our team at Airbus UpNext. As a key member of our multinational team, you will be responsible for developing an advanced superconducting and cryogenic powertrain to enable high-power electric propulsion systems for aircraft applications.
Main Responsibilities:
- Design and Development: Participate in the design of the Cryogenic Cooling System, leading the development process and industrial roadmap.
- Supplier Management: Select and manage industrial partners and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of demonstrator and sub-demonstrators.
- Project Management: Collaborate with internal teams to ensure the good integrability of the Cryogenic Cooling System into the overall powertrain.
Requirements:
- Education: MSc or PhD in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Experience: At least 5 years of working experience in Cryogenic System development, from design to laboratory testing, preferably in aeronautic applications.
- Skills: Deep knowledge of Cryogenic and Vacuum Technologies, strong skills in multiphysics modeling, and hands-on experience in prototyping and manufacturing Cryogenic system components.
