Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at T.D. Williamson. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for applying sound engineering principles to develop, customize, and sustain TDW products and services solutions for customer applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop new products and improve existing technologies, considering manufacturability, costs, and quality expectations.
  • Verify and apply customer/input requirements to engineering/design activity/output.
  • Perform and document engineering activities, including concepts, product design or improvements, calculation notes, design activities, prototypes, CE documentation, manuals, failure analysis, corrective actions, and obsolescence.
  • Lead CAD design activities for components, assemblies, and products, including 3D models and drawings.
  • Provide technical support and communications to internal departments and external stakeholders, including suppliers, partners, and customers.
  • Report progress, difficulties, risks, and needs to the Engineering Manager.
  • Follow established processes and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support internal and external product presentations.
  • Keep the ERP database up to date and create/update product part numbers.
  • Perform and lead validation test activities and create test reports.

Requirements

  • Engineering degree in Mechanical Design.
  • 5 years' experience in an engineering environment required.
  • Significant experience in engineering problem-solving.
  • Proficient in CAD software for 3D models and drawings (Solidworks preferred).
  • Experience in plastics parts manufacturing and machining would be preferred.

Preferred Skills

  • Proficient in CAD software for 3D models and drawings (Solidworks preferred).
  • Experience in plastics parts manufacturing and machining would be preferred.
  • Microsoft Office Pack professional skills.
  • Knowledge of PLM software (Team center, Intralink, Solidworks PLM).
  • Machine design experience preferred.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in French and English.
  • Capacity and willingness to work in an international environment.
  • Ready to accept business trips (15%).
